Cleanse Your Palette

Hi, have you ever seen anything prettier? Of course you haven’t. So listen, I obviously love makeup but I really haven’t bought much of anything new in a long time (reference 2 posts prior). But Anastasia Beverly Hills is probably my favorite makeup brand and their eye palettes are the best in the game so I had to get this one.

As far as eye palettes go, this is a really great one if you’re looking to add something extra to your everyday look. You get your basic nudes and transition colors but also get the bright pops of purple and pink. The good thing about those brighter colors is that they have a blue undertone, so they’re going to look sultry on the eyes, not clownish.

I definitely plan on uploading some looks once I have time to play around a bit, just wanted to share this with you guys because it’s been my favorite beauty purchase so far this summer.

Talk soon! xx

Working Girl

Hi!! I feel like I’m seeing an old friend for the first time in a while.  I must admit, I have missed my blog, BUT I’M BACK. One of the biggest reasons why I’m feeling pushed to get back into blogging and writing is that lately I’ve been feeling like I don’t have a creative outlet. This leads me into the purpose of this particular post…

WORK. Honey ya can’t escape it. But really and truly, most of the stress and strife in my life stems from work, from my job. This is something that, the older and more immersed I get into the workforce, I notice is a shared mindset amongst many young adults. Why does it have to be like this though? Why should it be normal to dread going into work almost every day?

Here’s the thing, we all need some form of income, that is a non-negotiable. I’m just really not down with the fact that it’s commonplace to be unhappy in your job. At this present time it seems that almost anything you can imagine doing, is plausible. So why is it so hard to find joy in what we spend most of time our doing? Then again, maybe that’s what makes it so sweet when you do finally figure it out. In the meantime, I will revel in figuring out those things that do make me happy, like this blog! AND HOPEFULLY ONE DAY IMMA BE RICH.

Psst… Beauty Secret

Welcome back! Today I have somewhat of a beauty secret to share with you all, at least it was a secret to me- fish oil! Fish oil pills offer an abundance of beautifying benefits. The Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil pills aid in reducing inflammation in the skin, reduce dryness both in hair and skin, and have been proven to ward off wrinkles.

Something that isn’t a secret? My tumultuous battle with acne. While I am not solely relying on fish oil pills to banish my breakouts, I have noticed a dramatic difference in my skin since taking these pills twice a day. The redness in my overall skin tone is diminishing and when I do get a gnarly pimple, I notice they do not appear as red and aggravated as they usually did, (BTW I have been taking these pills for about 4 weeks now).

In conclusion, fish oil is not a cure-all  but it certainly aids in the overall wellness of your body. Check it out for yourself and let me know how it works for you! Thanks for reading xx.

January Favorites

Happy February! I love the start of a new month, especially February. Everything is pink, everything has sugar on it and there aren’t as many days in the month, meaning my 30-day diet can be postponed yet another month!! Alright, enough small talk, let’s get to the good stuff! Below are a few of my favorites from January that will most definitely carry into the rest of the year….take a look!

MUGS!!! Who can’t have enough mugs? certainly not I, and I don’t even drink coffee!

I have an enormous makeup collection, I’m talkin’ huge people, and this Henri Bendel cosmetic pouch holds about 5 lbs worth, further fueling my addiction.

Over the past few months my skin has broken out gruesomely, meaning I’ve needed to take extreme measures to get it back under control. I recently started using Retin A, which in turn turns my skin bacon-skillet-greasy by the end of the day. No other makeup, even high end, has kept my grease at bay better than this Rimmel Stay Matte powder foundation. Bonus that it’s less than $5!!!

I spent New Year’s this year in NYC, which was fabulous, and ended up buying some great local artwork. I’m usually not one for art but come on…..COME ON too cute.

Beauty File: BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Blush Duo

I finally got my hands on the highlighter and blush duo by BECCA and it really and truly is everything I had imagined it to be. The blush, while being a bright pink, looks phenomenal; even on my pale skin. The highlight color looks literally ANGELIC and I received countless compliments, without people even really knowing what i had done different, just that it looked good. Sorry if it sounds like I’m gloating but this product truly is worth the hype (and the money). The shade I purchased is Hyacinth/Champagne Pop, price $38. Let me know if you’ve used any of the other shades and what your thoughts are. Thanks for reading! Xx
